Menstrual Health
The menstrual cycle is a natural hormonal process that prepares the body for possible pregnancy each month. Understanding menstrual health helps identify normal patterns, recognize changes, and support overall reproductive health and hormonal balance.
What is menopause?
Menopause is a natural biological transition that marks the end of menstrual cycles and reproductive function. It occurs when the ovaries gradually reduce production of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, leading to permanent changes in the menstrual cycle and reproductive system. While menopause is a normal stage of life, it can affect many aspects of physical health, hormonal balance, and overall wellbeing. Menopause involves complex hormonal and physiological changes that affect each individual differently. Understanding the timing, symptoms, and underlying biological processes helps support informed health decisions.
When do we experience menopause?
Most women experience menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, typically preceded by a transitional phase called perimenopause. During this time, hormone levels fluctuate and symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood changes, and irregular periods may occur. The type and severity of symptoms vary widely.
